Directorate of Medical Services

The Directorate have three (3) units namely; State Monitoring Committee; Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and Private Hospitals Registration and Regulatory Authority (PHRRA).

Achievements

1. The Directorate had reviewed cases of patients seeking medical assistance from His Excellency.
2. Monitored and Supervised all Public Hospitals including posting and discipline of erring staff before the creation of the Hospital Services Management Board (HSMB).
3. Process and monitored many medical students on state sponsorship.
4. Drafted several memos on different areas of the health care delivery.
5. Chaired the committee on the relocation of the General Hospital, Kumo to pave way for the demolition and reconstruction.
6. Part of the Honourable Commissioner’s team on visitation to different hospitals to address infrastructure and service delivery challenges.
7. Participated in the need assessment for all hospitals for the supply of Project Cure equipment and consumables, and chaired the committee that classified these items on arrival in the State.
8. Main link between organizations seeking partnership with the State on some health interventions etc. Most of these activities are ongoing and have no starting and ending dates.
